My cat masturbates
Anything fuzzy lying around the house he humps. Arches his back, his little wee wee sticks out, he thrusts, and he even howls! The funny thing is he won’t do it around me, and if I catch him in the act he acts as though he was just caught doing something wrong. Not only does he hump my slippers, stuffed animals..well anything furry, fuzzy, or flannel, but he licks himself constantly until his wee wee pops out to say hello. He cleans ‘down there’ all day every day! He is fixed and has been for five or more years and he does NOT spray when he does any of the above. I don’t mind, he is just an animal after all but why the hell does he do this? My other male cat couldn’t be less interested in licking himself or humping things. Anyone?
Well this is new! I figured he either wasn't neutered or had been neutered recently.
Then again I have a friend with a dog who's been neutered for several years as well and he does similar things as you describe your cat doing.
I've never experienced a cat doing any of this after being neutered. Has he always done this or is this a new behavior? If it's something new, perhaps he has something medically going on such as a urinary tract infection. It would be a good idea to have him checked by a vet, if he is constantly grooming himself in that area, maybe he is having pain or discomfort. Always worth a vet check when an animals behavior changes.
